The smarter way to learn to drive

All electric cars are automatics — no clutch, no gears, no stress. Here's why thousands of learners are choosing to learn in an EV.

🧘

Less stress, faster progress

Without a clutch or gearstick to worry about, you focus entirely on reading the road, anticipation and safe driving habits — the skills that actually get you through your test.

Instant, smooth acceleration

Electric motors deliver power instantly and consistently. No stalling, no jerky gear changes. The car responds exactly as expected, making driving feel calm and predictable.

🔇

Whisper-quiet cabin

The absence of engine noise makes communication between instructor and learner much easier. A calmer cabin means a calmer learner — and calmer learners progress faster.

🌿

Zero emissions during every lesson

Learn to drive in a car that produces zero tailpipe emissions. You're preparing for a future where the majority of cars on UK roads will be electric.

🏆

Your licence is future-proof

An automatic licence lets you drive any EV or automatic car. With the UK's 2035 ban on new petrol and diesel cars approaching, EV skills are essential.

Meet Csaba

Hi, I'm Csaba — your DVSA-approved driving instructor and the face behind EV Driving Lessons. I'm passionate about helping learners gain confidence behind the wheel in the most modern, stress-free environment possible: a Renault Zoe automatic electric car.

I cover Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock, Stevenage, Luton and Dunstable — and the nearby villages in between. My approach is calm, patient, and structured — I tailor every lesson to your individual pace and learning style.

I teach on the exact roads and routes used by examiners at the Letchworth, Stevenage and Luton DVSA test centres — so there are no surprises on test day. You will know every junction, roundabout and manoeuvre before you sit your test.

Learning in an electric car isn't just better for the environment — it genuinely makes learning easier. Without the clutch and gears to worry about, my students can focus on developing real driving skill, and many pass faster as a result.

I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for automatic driving lessons, EV driving lessons, or refresher driving lessons."

"Csaba is exactly the instructor I needed, as an older learner he understood my fears and gave me the encouragement I needed to keep trying. He wasn't just patient with my anxiety, he helped coach me through it. Each lesson had the same format but was also different because no two days traffic or route was the same, he helped me learn to adapt to each new experience as it came along. If I could give 10 out of 5 stars I would, this man is a legend and I've already recommended him to others. I really couldn't have done this without him."

Still unsure? Call Csaba
Yes — all EVs are automatic. If you pass your test in our electric car you'll hold a full UK automatic driving licence, allowing you to drive any automatic or electric vehicle on UK roads.
No — an automatic licence restricts you to automatic and electric vehicles. However, with petrol and diesel cars being phased out, most learners find an automatic licence is entirely sufficient for modern driving needs.
The DVSA average is around 45 hours of professional lessons. Learning in an electric automatic often requires fewer hours, as there's no clutch or gear-changing to master — leaving you free to focus on the driving skills that matter for your test.
Yes — Csaba picks you up from your home address (or a convenient nearby location) in Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock, Stevenage, Luton or Dunstable. There are no extra charges for pickup.
We use a Renault Zoe electric car with dual-controls fitted for full instructor safety control. It's a smooth, quiet, and responsive vehicle — ideal for learners at all levels.
