Before the lesson
Bring your provisional driving licence and wear footwear that lets you operate the pedals comfortably. If you have driven before, tell me roughly how much experience you have and whether you have a test booked.
The first few minutes
We start with a short conversation about your experience, confidence and goals. Then we go through the controls you need first: seating position, mirrors, pedals, selector, parking brake and the main safety checks.
If you are a complete beginner
We normally begin somewhere suitable for learning the basics rather than dropping you straight into the busiest traffic. Early work can include moving off, stopping, steering, observations and simple junction routines.
If you already have experience
The lesson becomes more of an assessment. I watch how you handle observations, speed, positioning, junctions, roundabouts and planning, then we use the result to decide what needs attention next.
Why the lesson is two hours
Two hours gives enough time to settle into the car, practise properly and finish with a useful debrief without spending most of the session travelling to and from the practice area.
At the end
We review what went well, what needs more work and what I recommend for the next lesson. If you used the new-pupil offer and decide my teaching style is not right for you, tell me before lesson two and I refund the £160 in full.
